Well don't ! it is the most awkward system they've adopted. Maybe its because I have aftermarket wheels but getting the wheel back on is a game and a half! You have two locating pins on the hub, you get the wheel on those and push it on but what you dont know is they dont line up the holes ! you have to keep jiggling the wheel to get the bolt in  I'v changed the tyres on many vehicles but they were all easy peasy compared to the Mito !

The lesson I've learned is you need breakdown cover ! I wouldn't want to try to do that on the side of the road in the dark !

Get a line-up stud from a 156 toolbox. Screw that into one hole, locate the wheel on that and bingo! Unscrew it at the end and put the last bolt back in!

I like this idea  Would the line up stud from a 156 fit a Mito ? if it does I might go and play scrapyard bingo next week :D

Has the MiTo toolkit definitely not got a big pin that you screw in to one hole, allowing you to locate the wheel on it?

No mention of it in the Mito Owner's Manual

Unlike the 147 OM where's it get a mention & a pic :D that pin is really useful

If you have locking wheel nuts then use one or two of the origonal wheel nuts (that are not used and given to you by the dealers).Cut the head off and make a slot in the end for a screwdriver to fit.

You have a stud to locate the wheel.

Or put your foot under the wheel and jiggle!

My old Fiat had a pin you screwed in to one hole to help locate the wheel. I used to be able to change the wheel in 5 minutes flat on that old beast.

Tomorrow I'll take another look to make sure there isn't one of those locator pin thingys in the tool kit, pretty sure there isn't :rubchin:

Sledge hammer, tyre irons & a few bits of angle iron required

And that's for a tractor tyre, good luck with low profile car tyres
