Hello,

Has anyone jacked their MITO up, for whatever reason, yet? The user manual, rather helpfully, just says 'take it to a dealer' if it needs lifting.

I thought every car had jacking 'points' on it.

Thanks in advance!

Careful telling Mito owners to look in the Owner's Manual, sometimes you get verbal abuse for doing so

As some don't think you should ever have to look at it & that the info isn't in there anyway :NUTTER: :HEADBANG:

the manual doesn't tell you much.
I've had to jack my car up a few months back due to a flat tyre.
There is no obvious jacking point like other cars it seems. But rather a long rail type thing that runs right across the bottom of the car. the supplied jack fits perfectly on any where on the rail.
That's to my knowledge anyway.

The jacking points are highlighted using the arrows/triangles on the sills as already mentioned above ;)

What else do you need to know that isn't explained/shown in the manual
TBH I don't see how the diagrams could be much clearer unless they included colour pics or vid clips maybe

That ain't in my manual  I even looked in the index, which directed me to a page saying 'take it to your dealer'. Hmmm.
It is in the two Mito manuals I'd looked at, which were February 2010 and May 2010 editions.
Page 169 of both.

Just checked the May 2008 edition and it is on page 165.
Always in the "In An Emergency" section.

What date is your manual?

Thanks for the replies people.

In my defence if any of you go to in the index and look up 'jacking the car' then it'll direct you to a page that doesn't show the diagram above. In my book it doesn't anyway. As I said above, all it says is "take the car to the dealer".

That is true, and may be confusing if you don't look any further.
But directly below "Jacking the car" in the index is "Jack" which takes you to page 167.
On p167 it tells you where the jack is, then on p168 it shows you how to loosen the wheel bolts, then on p169 it shows you where to put the jack and how to use it.

At the front I use the subframe .. never lifted the rear but definitely NOT the cross member.

I think the correct way is to make blocks that have slots to fit the sill jacking areas and are wide enough to extend in a bit to spread the load where there are not obvious car-lift points. Definitely not directly on the sills!
