Hi Guys,

At the moment, I have a 5 speed V6 12v RHD Alfa Spider. I'm trying to find out once and for all if a Q2 (or other) LSD will fit. Depending on who you talk to, you hear a resounding NO or a definite YES. The no is suggested because of the 5 speed gearbox. But the yes guys say, that with slight modification, it can be done. I know that my engine is CF1 and the speedo is connected to the gearbox direct in someway as opposed to the later versions that connect to the ABS and apparently this is the reason for the problem.

Can anyone advise catergorically, if it can be done and if so, exactly how?

I've done the Koni, H&Rs, Strut brace, if successful, an LSD should do it. I just want to enjoy those corners more....you know.

Cheers.

I've fitted one i my 5 speed GTV TB.

As you said you have to fit the plastic gear for the speedometer. it fitts on the Q2 diff with a small modification. However, to get it of the old diff, you have to take off the bearing. I used an angle grinder for that.

I also used the same shims that the old diff used. I haven't measured if it is withing tolerances, however both the Q2 diff and bearings are made with quite good tolerances, therefore I didn't think think this should be a problem.
