OMG!:) Thats some nice presents mate, those discs will clean up lovely, and that intercooler is a wopper!:cool:
I must say you did a sterling job on the water/meth install and it's great to see your prepaired to go through more blood sweat and late nights after seeing what these mods will do for performance.

My write ups arn't as detailed as yours, so if there's anything thats not clear from my Brake or Intercooler install then just ask.
Cheers mate! Can't wait to get going on these mods! unfortunately it'll have to wait for a few weeks whilst i'm sorting some other stuff out.

I'm sure it'll take blood, sweat and tears but the results will be enormously satisfying.

Of course I'll be doing a full writeup with lots of pictures along the way should anyone else feel brave enough. Thanks for your rather excellent F1 thread and all the help you've offered - it's turned me into a complete serial modder! :D

Good evening my diesel friends!

Just a quick update of today's progress...

Unlike my friend JBS who's currently swanning around with big brake upgrades and funky calipers I've been doing some real work!

I've bought 48 engineering bricks and cleared out my garage for a longawaited arrival...
The plan is tomorrow to do some final data-logging on my, erm, private testtrack...
After that I'm hoping to clean the car thoroughly before putting her to sleep in my heated, yes, heated(!) garage some some serious(!) wintermodding. And I'm not talking about giving the girl a skirt! :cheese:

Oh, and I almost forgot...I've been polishing the family silverware as well....can't beat a bit of bling!

looking good. Thats some shine you've got on them brake bits!:wow: Problem is - once you polish one bit....
Cheers mate! Other parts have gone through the Clogz paintshop and are drying...you know where!

Tell me about polishing...it's never-ending...

Any updates?

I had a talk with Gus about putting the 210hp turbo onto my car when mine goes. But apparently its not an easy job at all. Another point is that the 210 garrett turbo spools up quicker than the BV on mine.
Hows about fitting a hybrid of the GTB Garrett unit? You'd still get good spool up and better torque/power so it would be an interesting move...
I don't know if many have tried it yet - the compressor cover looks a bit of a pig to hold for machining, but a bolt on bolt off plug n play solution should be possible.
I could build you one if you wanted to try it out...?

Clogz.. does the first exhaust change you done, that made the car sound a lot meatier, make it a bit boomy though at motorway speeds?

i do like the mod, just worried it would be boomy and noisy at speed?
Hi CL159, the straight-through exhaust system sounds great when you're accelerating and when I cruise on the motorway it is still nice and stealth - No louder than it was before!

Now thats a good question! Gus / Aide any input?
I can't think of someone I know who's got this exhaust system on his 159 but I do know AlfaTune can supply the same one for a 159. Just drop Gus(Alfatuner) a pm and he'll give anyone interested some details.

Brief Update

Goodevening my diesel friends!

I thought I'd give you all a brief update and asure you all I've not been cured of my modding disease....

Quite the contrary...I thought I'd join James(F1JBS) at the stratospheric heights where modding is not for the faint-hearted!

Here are a couple of interim pictures of the car as it stands. In due course I'll be posting a full update on what is happening...

PS: No, I'm not experimenting with a new type of 'stealth' aerodynamic improvements....:D

:cheese: That vid is very funny!
You know what, I may need do something about those airbags when I strap one of the latest mods onto the car...

been following this thread with great interest,
just been speaking to Gus and were discussing bit and bobs for my 159 TI 2.4 id Really love the sound u have in my car!
Hi Cobra, good to hear you like it. The sound is actually much better than on the vid but I haven't managed to capture it properly...yet...
Old Gus knows what he's talking about - you'll be in sound&safe hands!

More updates coming soon as my exercise in extreme(!) multi-modding/tasking is bringing me close to being exhausted....

Gotta be a bit mad for this stuff...
