We've been having to use the GT as a daily kid's clubs run for over a week now and there hav been a few times where I thought Christ, I can practically watch the fuel gauge go down. There's no way I'd want to use it too much, ÂŁ50-ÂŁ60 a month in fuel is about what I'm happy to do.
Good call on the Zafira, it'll make the Gt that much more special. I have a 159sw 2.4 ti, mapped and it's power delivery is awesome too, dare I say better than the gt, but if I had to sell one, it'd be the 159.

That is my only minor concern with the 3.2 - I'm spending near enough ÂŁ300 a month on diesel at the moment, so using a 3.2 daily would not be entirely cost effective (but definitely fun!) I know that I should be looking at the 1.9 from a cost POV, and with it being more or less the same engine as the zafira has, it would be a known quantity from a spanners point of view too... but, I want the 3.2 GT (or a 4.0 XK8, but that has been denied by SWMBO lol) and I'm going to keep fighting the sensible voice in my head...

On the plus point, we've had contact from the buyers solicitors and they are currently agreeing the completion date - so fingers crossed!

just drive sensibly. If I stay in third/fourth and use the cruise control I average 9.5l/100kms which is pretty good for a GT. If however I put my foot down it goes straight to 23,lol so keep revs low, cruise control and voila.

Just an interesting point, the GT cruise control doesn't work past 199km/h;s...:) wanted to cruise 220 but she wouldn't let me. What a priceless, unique marvelous glorious car the GT is. Only thing about it being daily cruiser is the kids schoolbags keep scratching my boot linings...grrrrrrrrrrrr

So tonight I had an interesting conversation and subsequent request from my eldest step-daughter. She is going to be 16 this year and leaving school. (When i left school you did you last exam, went back in a few weeks for results and that was it)

Apparently now the UK has adopted the Prom from the US, and she is having her prom at a local hotel... Tonight, I was asked if i was still getting my "alfa sports car" and if i was, if i could drop her off at her prom with the "engine showing off"...

If ever there was a greater drive to buy a 3.2, that was it :D

Sorry if its been mentioned but have you seen the gorgeous GT 3.2 new engine, one owner car at Autolusso. Its a stunner and a solid car. I drove it this week. Its so smooth and has a lovely gearbox. I am ocd as people will tell you. So if i say positive things i mean it.. It has had so much done to her for peace of mind for so many years to come. Give Ned a ring for a chat.

Damien.

Hi Everyone.

Latest news, we are confirmed for completion tomorrow! Hooray!!
Unfortunately free time isn't too likely this weekend to shop for GTs, as my MIL is moving back from Nottingham, and i've been volunteered as white van driver for said move... :(

But, i'm taking it all as positive that the money will be in the bank, and I'll be ready to sort out a sexy 3.2 V6!
Now just need to convince SWMBO that my company stocks next month would be better spent on some Alfa upgrades instead of house renovations ;)
