1 Remove engine cover with a 10mm socket 2 carefully unplug heater plugs 3 Very carefully remove heater plugs with a 9mm deep socket.

 

I'm sure they are in the same place as the 16v 1.9. inbetween the rear cam and the inlet manifold, the electrical wire just pulls off,gently use a screw driver to lift it off and mine were an 11m deep socket, be gentle undoing them, they have been known to snap off.

 

It's 9 mil socket not 11

Is that your actual engine or from a google image search? It's mainly the pipework runs that look different and the power steering reservoir is in a totally different place. And the oil filler

Yes - that isnt my 'actual' engine - courtesy of google, but the block is the same so I can find my glow lugs at the weekend...

 

yep that makes sense now (i was just being "nerdy" really and wondering why it looked different - then looked up a 159 and there it was...)
