"916" is the type number for a GTV/Spider.

For example 156 were type number "932", 147/GT are "937"

Phase 1 = before 1998 and Phase 2 after 1998.
I think it is 1998....
Phase 3 = the later longer grill front.

Yep, different engines.

The 2.0JTS is a direct injection version of the 2.0TS

Looking at your profile you say you have a 2004 16v TS GTV, I'm sure it will be a JTS not a TS.

With regard to Lusso's I found this info which makes a lot of sense as my car is 1999 P2 'Lusso' with no leather interior but with climate control.

The Lusso has become a separate model rather than an option pack on the phase 2 cars and the standard car was renamed the "Turismo". All V6 cars were of Lusso specification. Very few Turismos were sold in the UK.

The TS engine is a much older design which uses port injection spraying fuel into the intake and then two spark plugs per cylinder to ignite. This came in two performance tunes, 150 bhp in Phase I and 155 bhp in Phase II. Can't remember for sure but possible back to 150 bhp for Phase CF3 (emissions) engines but dunno about that.

The JTS came along in 2002 with a power hike to nearly 165 bhp. The engine has an injector spraying directly into each cylinder and the fuel is ignited by a single spark plug. Supposed to be more efficient but think a lot of people have found that they are quite down on power from spec.

JTS is a direct injection version of the same engine as mentioned before. although it has a different head than the TS and no inlet cam variator. some people prefer the TS to the JTS and vice versa. i just prefer the V6 :D
