Turbo problems (i think) on my Cloverleaf

I have a 2010 (60 plate) Giulietta Cloverleaf which I have owned for 2 years. It has done 56k miles.

Was having a spirited drive on Saturday in Dynamic mode. Parked up at home and let cool down, fired it back up and every now and then (every 10-5 seconds) it would make a strange clicking/banging noise.

There is no enging management light or any other warning message being displayed. I have not noticed and plumes of smoke coming from the exhaust either.

Has anyone had a similar problem? Is there anything I can check myself easily (not that mechanically gifted but know the basics).

Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to give

Was having a spirited drive on Saturday in Dynamic mode. I switched it back to Normal and instantly felt a massive lack of acceleration. Put it back into Dynamic mode and the problem was still there. This time there turbo gauge was shoing no pressure building up either. Parked up at home and let cool down, fired it back up and the problem was still there and also every now and then (every 10-5 seconds) it would make a strange clicking/banging noise.

Have tried to book it into Power Italia in Laindon but they cannot look at it until Friday.

Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to give

I had a similar problem once on my Mito QV, if its in a similar place, follow all the lines that come off the air intake for the turbo, and check if any have come loose, or kinked, I lost all my boost due to a kinked hose, give it a go, and let us know how you get on, all the best

Unfortunately, that sounds like turbo failure to me. I would not run the car until it's been looked at, as there is a possibility of consequential damage (metallic particles being ingested into the engine).
Most likely the exhaust turbine wheel has broken off, and the noise you can hear is it rattling around in the housing. This is not uncommon, and is usually caused by oil starvation (the oil feed to the turbo is not a very good design). If the turbo has failed, when it is replaced make sure that the oil feed pipe and its' banjo bolt (containing a tiny mesh filter) is also changed. In my opinion it is worth changing this banjo bolt every time the oil is changed, which should be every year/12k miles.

To me, the tapping before revving sounds like injectors working, I believe when you let off the throttle I could here the sound of pressurized air being re circulated also, have you had the MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor checked? As I believe this is used to tell the ecu boost pressure (possibly linked to the dynamic boost gauge) of course I could be wrong but it could be that
