turbo boost valve JTDm

this may be a long shot and lead to nothing.......

but, can you put a ''turbo boost control valve'' on to the 1.9JTDm???
its standard at the mo but they seem like a cheep way to get a little extra power by restricting the pressure to the wastegate, thus keeping it closed for longer. i seem to be boosting at 1.5bar then it drops to around 1.2bar. if i could get it to stay up at 1.5, id be happy

any ideas if it would work???

Your turbo is electronically controlled. You could cause major damage to the turbo internals by holding the variable vane position for too long (the 1.9 has a VGT turbo, using vanes to control boost rather than a traditional wastegate system). If you get it wrong, it could cause an overspeeding turbine wheel, possibly causing the failure of some components. The best way to increase boost safely is to have a proper remap done by a respectable tuning company.
