anyone ever towed with their 166? a friend of mine and i want to do some track days on bikes this year, and have decided we are going to trailer the bikes.

i'm going to guess the answer would be a resounding yes, but i'd be ok to tow a double bike trailer and 2 600cc sports bikes with a 2.5 166?

(bikes are a honda CBR600 and Kawasaki GPX600 B.T.W.)

i have seen a 166 towing a burger stand before, and those things are bloody heavy. anything to watch out for? my car has a brink removable tow bar, and is wired for electrics already.

i've towed about a ton of boat with mine - no probs at all. Also towed the empty trailer all the way back from Norfolk and it was fine....the twink does lack low down torque to get a heavy load moving so the v6 is probably better in that respect...

Ok..... im going to admit

I tow a caravan with my TS, needs must im afriad !.... the TS isnt at all suited to doing this, low torque and rubbish grip

Ive tried a 3.0l aswell, i was considering changing as its much more powerfull, but in reality its all top end power, it wouldnt be much better

a better tow car will be on its way, but it prolly carnt be an alfa

Hi,

My 2 pennies' worth...

The problem I had towing in mine was not lack of power (ok, mine was a 3.0 litre), but the fact that the 166 has a relatively short wheelbase for its size - it therefore tended to weave about a bit at motorway speeds.
