Keeping button pressed on unlock on the keyfob opens windows on car.

Works in reverse too if your windows are open and you hold the lock button.

Linked with this is if you have gone out in your Spider in the rain on no account open the drivers door until the roof is completely dry. Failure to follow this simple rule will mean that the contents of the heavens will

a) cascade directly onto your electric seat switch leaving you fearful of a fried arse

b) when you do eventually get out of the car you'll spend the next 10 mins looking like you've wet yourself as the deluge ended up in your lap

 

Drive it like an Alfa should be and within 8K miles, your front tyres will be perfect on the outer 7/8ths but down to the canvas on the inner 1/8th.

 

If your ignition key has a leather fob make sure the leather side is against the dash - stops it being scratched. I Know its obvious.......

I complained about this to my dealer and they drilled a small hole in the bottom of the black plastic bit that the badge sits on. No more water problems!

 

If you set the alarm it will go off at 3.30 am.

I thought that was for the hidden "+20BHP" feature
for the engine management.

 

Dont take the car back saying the boot button (on the roof ) dosent work. Has to be activated on the menu...

 

Yeah! I was ready to go to the dealer for this. Then I discover that it has to be activated...

 

Not really an issue at this time of year but if you have snow on your bootlid, take as much off as you can before opening the boot otherwise it slides off, on to the back window then falls in your boot.

Sensible one's - to start the car dip the clutch and you only habe to tap the start button, press the brake and you have to hold the start button in.

Press and hold the dimmer and the dash goes out leaving just the speedo lit.

Where's the dimmer? I got an 07 Brera and couldn't find it.

 

Here is a good tip a dealer won't tell you - don't get your car serviced at a dealer, go to a good Indie.

My dealer actually matched the price quoted by an indie and I got an excellent service, a 159SW courtesy car and a valeted car when I returned.


My tip - ask if your dealer will price match when you book your car in.

 

What is the dead lock?

 

Deadlock is second stage door lock that completely locks the car.
Supposedly the car doors cannot be opened from inside or outside
without the key or remote.

This is the best thread ever because I used to read my manuals religously until suddenly I got a life so now I rely on stuff like this to keep me informed.

I learnt the window trick on here recently, plus the one about the Centre Armrest - if you push on the back of it it slides forwards. Useful when the current Mrs Revski does a BA Baracus style drug trick on me when the 5 foot 1 inch of loveliness wants to use it.

Guess what? If you turn off your air con like what I do then get in after playing footy on a Thursday and the windows steam up, it's got a moisture sensor that auto demists the windscreen.

Another tip - don't tune the Radio in to Radio 1 after 7pm. A load of ****e comes out of the speakers. ARUK already have this logged as the "zanelowe" fault if you phone them.

How can I get this to re-set? My windscreen always steams up, and I don't even play footy.

Maybe 'cause I'm a Newcastle supporter. Still, at least we can kick the ball and drive in a straight line, even if we can't kick straight.

Do you mean switch the engine off with the air-con blasting? And, air-con not heater, right? I'm referring to cold-weather windscreen fogging.

 

Can't claim credit for this as I found it on the forum, but unlocking the boot and then quickly unlocking the rest of the car opens everything up without the 'beep'. Useful at 2am when you don't want to disturb the neighbours - just have to remember to manually close the boot up before driving off!
