Sorry no but it might be worth getting the codes checked with something like MultiECUScan as the AA reader will probably be a generic device and may not acurately describe the fault.
Still sounds like a trip to the garage! Make sure you find someone who whows what they're doing with a TCT.

I know it might sound daft but how good is your battery?

 

I am actually hoping it could be the battery. I’ve only had the car 6 weeks but the start/stop is completely intermittent with when it works which I know is usually due to a weak battery and I do a lot of short-ish journeys.

 

I only ask because I've had problems with my TCT although I never looked at codes, mine used to get stuck in 2nd with no reverse so I'd stop, turn it off. Lock it, wait a minute then unlock and start it, sometimes I had to do this more than once to get it going then it would be fine.
I also could feel the difference in the gear changes so every now and then I'd charge it over night and everytime it sorted it out.
Of course overtime it got worse and had it tested at a battery place down the road and they told me it was fine so I assumed I had real gearbox issues.
I took it to an Alfa specialist and he put his snap on tester on the battery and it came up replace.
I have replaced it and I haven't had an issue since.

 

That makes me feel a lot more optimistic! Luckily I know a good independent Alfa specialist nearby who I’ll ring in the morning and suggest this to him before approaching gearbox repair specialists as this does seem a promising idea.

Gs are weird with batteries. A slight drop in power throws up all sorts of fault codes. Do some research and make sure you get the battery YOU want, not what the battery shop says you need.

 

lol aren't they just. Gearbox faults mainly including stuck in 2nd, no engagement at all and badly timed changes.

Mine had the Halfords advanced 096AGM battery on it when I bought the car, it looked brand new when I bought the car in Jan 2018. I've replaced it with the slightly cheaper Halfords EFB096 and its spot on.

So the car has now finally been seen to at the garage. Alfa specialist diagnosed it as a faulty clutch position sensor which has been replaced and is back to normal.

Quite a rare fault apparently, just hope the repair holds!

 

Which Company did you use, as my TCT box is experiencing the same fault.
