I have a 2010 Giulietta QV with the normal radio without a screen.
Is it possible to retro fit an original navigation, like on the newer Giuliettas, and still have all the buttons on the steering wheel, bluetooth phone, etc. work properly? Or is there a good quality aftermarket solution which could do the same?

For steering wheel buttons, there are numerous adapter like
Interface au volant ? CAW-CCANAR2 Spécifications techniques ? Kenwood Belgium
or

plus a holder and bezel kit, like

But if you absolutely must have a u-connect 6.5" live, you can buy mine in February/March when I replace it with a 1DIN DAB radio and holder for my 8.4"(!!!!) phablet.

Looks like a massive amount of work and a headache just to get Sat Nav to me! I just plug in the Garmin on the odd occasion when required! I think you'd need to be a fully qualified auto-electric engineer to attempt any of that - and it would still be a massive surprise if it worked!

Cynical? Me!?

Nah, fitting a stereo to a car should be part of a driving test. Its a right of passage. Everyone should be able to do it.

Seriously though, It is simpler than it looks. The cables that are linked are just a go betweens, from the aftermarket headunit ouputs to the vehicles oe loom. Generally they are plug and play and are there to make everything idiot proof
