I have a fault code 2172, this is a reoccurring fault, dealer changed a relay & the throttle body, but the fault is still a problem, usually the car runs rough for a couple of miles, then when your stopped at the lights the cel comes on, after 3 to 4 starts it’s off again for a couple of days, dealer is struggling with it & needs the car for a week, has anybody had a similar fault & a fix

I have not heard of this fault much on the Giulia but on the US forum a couple of instances were caused by a faulty electronic throttle body but in you case that has already been changed. It could be a vacuum leak on the intake system which they should be able to check. Another issue could be the throttle position sensor.

I did mention about a vacuum leak, but they said it would be happening all the time.

Dear @platespinner

I hope you are fine. I read your post about p2172 code and I have same problem. Do you remember how did you solve the problem.
Regards and sincerelery from Turkey.
Hi,
I did get it resolved after 5 visits to the dealer, they ended up getting an alfa super tech in to fix it, it was a solenoid on the intake sticking, not sure exactly which one, it’s been ok ever since.
