Just had this fault code come up on out G. P0512 starter motor signal or something.

Has anyone else had this? Battery voltage seems fine (it also isn't that old)

Car drove ok, but had exclaimation mark in the stop start symbol, as well as check engine warning.

DNA inactive until reset.

Hi Gary, I still get this code every now and again, despite there being a new battery on the car. As it only pops up about once every 12 months and the car otherwise drives fine we have learned to live with it.

How old is your battery?

If it is a few years old it might be about to fail. Dying batteries can cause all sort of strange issues, although they do tend to go die quite suddenly. One day everything might be ok, the next totally dead.

Those battery voltages sound good to me. if it is killing batteries you may have an issue with the charging system, such as the alternator, its regulator circuit or the cars charging sensor (Which I believe if the small black box attached to the battery negative pole)
