First of all hello to everyone from Croatia! Been following this forum for a while and decided to join now because I see that there is a lot of knowledge about Alfa's here. Didn't post in the multiair faliure database because there hasn't been a post for a few months..
Here's the problem. Recently bought an Giulietta 1.4 170 tct, 2012, 85000km, everything was fine till I decided to change the oil, it was changed last year about this time and it has done 14000km since then. I used Castrol Magnatec 5w40 with Fiat's S2 specification as the manual suggests. Also I removed and cleaned the MA filter, it was completley clean and decided to reinstall it. After about 5km i got a ce light and start stop disabled. Got a mini heart attack. Limped home, cleared the fault (p1063) , a friend did a MA reset, (dont know the actual name of the procedure in MES) started her up and drove fine for about 80km yesterday. Today when I started her up, almost instantly i got the ce light and start stop disabled, also the car was running on 3 cyl. (screenshot of the faults below). Removed the MA filter again and noticed that the o ring on it is almost flat with the filter body. Replaced the o ring with a suitable one just to try it out because I can't get a new one till next week, if then. Started the car, rough idle again, but after a few minutes everything ok. Couldn't even hear the engine running. Cleared the faults, went for a ride, everything great.
Now, my question is: could a bad gasket on the filter be the cause of the problem, could the system lose pressure because of it?? Hoping that someone with better knowledge of the MA internals will know.
Sorry for the novel and sorry for my english [emoji16]
Really hoping for an advice because these petrol cars are really rare and the official Alfa dealer didn't even know about the filter until I sent them the part number. [emoji58]
