Never again will I drive a VAG diesel.

Had the 1.4 TDI. Was amazingly frugal and reliable up too about 120 000km's..

Then the turbo blew 3 times in the space of 40 000kms after 120 000km's.

Last turbo I replaced at R9 000 from SAC two weeks before I took delivery of the Giulietta...

Merivas can be found from R35000 and go up roughly to R90000, obviously the main reason for the various pricing is year and mileage.
