Until 22.00Hr last night i had a clean license. I passed thro a speed trap doing 108 kph in a 100kph zone, the cop car did not follow but they could have a camera.

This was on a 1 mile straight, admittedly it was raining at the time..... good job i had slowed down for the straight, i had been doing 120 kph on the twisty stuff which was zoned at 80kph

Spoke to a mate of mine tonight who's a copper... on the topic of points, borin I know! He was telling me about how pretty much all the guys he works with have points on their licenses. Leads me to think that the system will have to change one day, soon, or the police are going to have no drivers left! It's just getting ridiculous! There's a few places I know that I could drive a mile and loose my license courtesy of our gatso friends.

Currently on 9 Brucey Bonus Points!!!!! Got a few months to go before they all come off.

60 in a 40: The kojak with his kodak tried to wave me down, thought it was a BT engineer and carried on going. Ops! 1st court case for that one.

90 on the M3: kojak pulled 2 of us over @ once. How clever was that?

Finally jumped a red light on a dual carriage way. Mr. plod was on the inside lane as I tried to dash trough. He got me before I was a couple of metres up the road; It wasnt big or clever!!!

So having had my Bella Bruto GTA for the last 3 months, Its been very VERY interesting.

Sad thing is, they lass who had it before me fitted an Origin GPS/lazer detector. Its all fitted out with the kit, just gotta buy the little box display gizmo. Anyone got one? Are they any good?

Rather spend the money at AutoDelta to be honest.....

I had one but hardly used it so sold it on, the laser thing is ok but it only goes off if the camrea van has targeted your car by which time 9/10 times its too late to slow down anyway.

Im thinking of getting a tomtom because you can download add ons to alert for fixed camreas, just have to take your chances with the mobile vans

My only 3 points expired about 3 years ago. 91.3 average (in a 70 area) on VASCAR, though I was doing 100 when I spotted the big stripey Volvo a couple of feet off my tail! D'oh!

My clean licence is more good luck than judgement!

21k since Christmas, mostly on boring motorways and dual carriageways! What hope is there?

To my eternal shame, I have had 6 pinta points on the old licence at one point - got caught with no tax, MoT or insurance when I was 18. I know, I know, I'll probably go straight to Hell for it but I was young and stupid.

It was quite funny really - got stopped with me, the wife, the mother-in-law and two kids in the car and Mr Plod says "Is this your car, sonny?" ohhh, I was just dying to say "No, I've come out ram-raiding with the whole bloody family!".

He was a bit of a t1t really - stopped me on a dual carriageway with the whole family in tow, so I says "Well, I'm going to have to drive it home as is, we can't just sit here!" (before mobile phones, don't you know) and he says "Well, I'll just have to nick you again if you move it" - vvanker!

Anyway, we just waited 1/2 hour and then drove home.

I've currently got a clean license, and I think I've been lucky to have only had 6 points over 16 years of driving. The last one really got my back up though, I was in my Ibiza Cupra, racing a Vectra V6, at nearly midnight on a deserted, dry, straight-ish road. Plod was waiting in a lay-by with no lights on, in an unmarked car. The annoying thing was, the Vectra was pulling away from me but Dibble pulls me and admits it's because he probably couldn't have cought the Vectra. Barsteward.

10 years in december of points free driving. found out recently that here in ireland the irish police cannot endorse points onto my uk licence!! cool.............!!!

i have been lucky, the one time i was stopped i was asked, along with the passenger, to get out of the car, upon removing my 6ft 6" frame and my friend unfolding his 6ft 8" frame from my metro gti , mr plod burst out laughing..............

should i have felt lucky or insulted!!

None at all, but you have to be careful where I live, speed cameras EVERYWHERE and the local police have taken to driving a lowered chavved up BMW M5 to catch out the local boy racers (of which there are a lot).

Was on 9 for a while and nearing the date that some could be removed, then got caught twice in a month.....
Automatic 6 month ban for 12 points!!
So should really have been on 15 but got let off with the other 3 for the time be.

All mobile camera vans except once was a hand held laser gun, worst case I was only 16mph of the limit....but no excuses!

excuses or giving reasons as to how they built up

...and btw...the points stay for five years
