Gawd knows.......I can get more than that from a tankful on my TS

 

Dunno, but I'm new to this Alfa and Economical in the same sentence lark ;-)

Just filled up, well 7/8th's or something, £46 / 48l and had done 408 miles, my first full run, so think that's about 37mpg. Although spying on the trip computer sowed an average of 42mpg. Think someone's maths are wrong!

 

136bhp to 175bhp? Unless you've had better consumption than this since the remap and it's now got worse, is it any wonder?

 

Nope, it was only very slightly better before the remap. I didn't work out the exact miles to gallon figure this tank but it's usually about 31mpg. Pre-remap it was about 33mpg. I think it's less than that now as I would clear 400 to the tank.

Does a dodgy thermostat have the same afffect on a diesel as it does petrol?

it is a performance diesel afterall i would imagine 175bhp would drink a lot?

£50 = about 55 litres so that means youy are getting about 32mpg. Its not that far off what you are expecting is it?

 

Wrinx, I think you got a prob. Even with mine, I average 420-440 miles to a tank full and I REALLY don't hang around.....

Get it hooked up and checked out.

What Diesel are you putting in? Supermarket Derv is known to give you a low range, I use Shell Extra and it gives me about 400-450 miles from 450 from my Peugeot.

Also try adding some Millers that may add to your MPG figures too.

 

Hi, I also have a 156 jtd with 180bhp remap but my economy is spot on, when on a flooring it tank it get 450 miles and when its 70mph only motorway miles then i get 650 miles to a tank(£55 to 60), hope this helps sounds like you could have a problem.

Yeah its pretty good when on economy run but you have to be quite strict with yourself not to floor it when something goes past you"! I think once I change the airbox for a BMC CDA induction kit that will help the power and economy as the standard air filter system is strangling the whole engine,

Wrinx, considered a spot of veg oil? never tried it but there is plenty of material on the interweb that says it works good.... just a thought...
