I'm thinking will they really become significantly louder... Now they can develop engines more but basics are the same right?
And will some drivers still suffer from understeer if tyres become wider but the ratio between front and rear tyre width stays similar? :thinking:

 

Looks like Manor have gone into administration... again! Hopefully they can be saved.

On a more positive note, Channel 4 are showing Monaco as one of their live races, which although some people don't like, I still like the spectacle of it...

 

Alfa Romeo should buy them! ?

Manor situation is odd... its the holding company effectively that has gone into administration, Manor Grand Prix who hold the licence to race isnt effected... but because the holding company has all the money Manor Grand Prix has no cars

All very confusing

Some nice looking cars this year. I was a bit disappointed with the Mclaren. Looks like a Virgin/Marussia.
Hope the racing looks as good as the cars.

 

It reminds me of the 2002 Arrows.. That was the year Arrows went bust for the last time..

And it's a bit samey with Renoort this year. It'll get confusing on telly..

Is refuelling back or not?

 

Two days of testing done, and it does look like the cars are a lot faster now, what do you people think of them?

Mercedes is just as stable as always, Ferrari is fast as in previous years of testing, but doesn't seem to be able to bring it into the races.. Haas seems to have done quite well up until now?

 

Looks like it's business as usual...

Merc fastest, McLaren broken

 

Although notoriously difficult to read into the times, due to fuel loads, engine settings etc... I do think the trackside comments are useful. Gary Anderson is v impressed with how the Ferrari looks..

13:25 Watching this morning, the Ferrari looked planted at every corner I went to. The Mercedes when doing quick runs on new tyres also looked pretty good, but when on longer runs or on softer tyres looked a bit fidgety and was moving around a bit. The Mercedes seems to have more understeer than the Ferrari, because it seems to show more front wheel on turn in because of the extra steering lock. So it looks like Ferrari has a better front end, which bodes very well for when it runs the new tyres, because you need a good front end to get the lap time.

 

Just hope it won't be the usual borefest when it comes to the races.

 

Lots of positive comments on the SF70H.....certainly a stunning looking car, performng well during testing (early days, of course). Hopefully will be a better year than last for the Scuderia and we'll have some wins.

I hope they are more competitive this year from the outset but I fear it's just the same as previously, last 3 years they've been quickest in testing and then come first GP Mercedes are a second a lap ahead.

We'll have to wait and see...

Also interesting noises from McLaren, we'll see what happens there too, Honda are really struggling... so much so that it's in danger of harming their road car reputation

 

Can seriously see Fernando walking away after his recent comments. He'll probably go to Merc next season if things don't improve (Bottas only has a 1 year contract).
