Hi,
Thought this might be useful to folk with a 166.
My passenger side front electric window went down and would not come up. This is caused by the control unit behind the trim on the passenger side transmission tunnel. A clamshell bright green container with 5 plugs. I bought a new one, £65. But being curious opened the old one using a small flatblade screwdriver. Inside is a simple PCB. It uses 4 Seimens V23072 sealed relays. These are soldered onto large pads so are easy to desolder with either a copper braid or solder sucker and small soldering iron. The relaysare filled with some sort of liquid as one of mine had leaked. New relays of the same pattern are available from http://www.relays-r-us.co.uk/webpages/products/rrus_cat/wj201.htm, they are the WJ201 sealed type. Don't know what they cost, but 30 minutes of your time and one of these will solve your elec window problem in most cases.
