Experiences with Autodelta supercharger for 2.2 JTS ?

After hearing my father's Fiat Argenta Diesel with a broken exhaust many years ago, I'm usually more annoyed than impressed by loud engine sounds.
But I loved that sound of the Vauxhall Bathurst supercharger on last Top Gear! :wow:

That made me think - does anyone here have the Autodelta supercharger on their 2.2 JTS engine. Any experiences and/or sound files would be welcome.

I haven't heard of anyone with a supercharged 2.2 other than the AD test car.

This may be because I have been advised by at least one engineer/mechanic in the past that it is not a good idea to turbocharge or supercharge the 2.2 because it will develop too much torque/power and mash its con rods and other internal gubbins. In otherwords, it will tear itself apart sooner or later. After all, the 2.2 has a lot of torque for a 4 cylinder NA engine.

Now I would love for the above paragraph to be proved wrong by someone posting on here that they've had 20,000+ miles of trouble free fun in a supercharged/turbocharged 2.2 but with no one coming forward it looks like the advice I received was more likely right than wrong. Sad as I quite fancy a turbo'd one actually.

I do like the look of the AD Supercharger ... shame no one at Brooklands was interested in chatting to me while I was looking over the 159

but it is a 'small' amount of cash

more likely just to do CF's route and just get it remapped/tuned and new exhaust and inlet/filter setup

there are a lot of Autodelta 2.2 supercharged cars in mainland Europe including some with Selespeed transmission.

As we have a number of active international dealers who are fully trained to install our supercharger conversions the 2.2 supercharger is more popular in europe as some countries have high taxation on big capacity engines.

I will be happy to put you in touch with some owners, the closest to Germany I would say is Holland.

I am sure at least one of them will be willing to demonstrate their car if you fancy meeting up with them, if you PM or try jano@autodelta.co.uk I can give you their details.
As far as sound files when I have some free time I will try and get some footage for you.

If you are then interested to have the conversion we can send one of our engineers to Germany to install the kit and we also have TUV certification for this kit.

Below are some foreign magazine tests for you to read (if your russian or dutch is good) and a road test from a dutch motoring programme here YouTube - Alfa Romeo 159 2.2 JTS Autodelta - AutoGetest.nl
