I have been at my upholstery shop here in Miami that has been in business for over 25 years, they work on classics and modern cars alike. They had to do some minor repair on my 97 Spider. He wasn't looking forward to replacing the top because seems like a complex one and really time consuming.

When the time comes and haven seen other Alfa 916 owners DIY problems I would definitely go with pros to have it done. My 2cts. good luck.
