Finally got around doing this mod. I cut an aluminum cold air intake pipe to desired length and smoothed out the edges with sand paper.

Pipe diameter: 76mm
Length: 130cm

76mm was a little too tight, but I managed to push the pipe all the way in. I noticed definite difference in roar after 5000rpm. I highly recommend this simple mod;)

I just went in to Wickes and noticed a bit of pipe that had exactly the required bend in it and it literally fits like a glove at the throttle body end. 2 minutes with a hack saw and the other end is pretty snug too. Will be weeks before I can see how she runs (sounds) though... stupid suspension!

I have done something simaler on my Ts and my old v6 the diameter of the pipe is larger for the v6so couldn't do a stright swap I did manage to get two 45'bends and a stright with a t off sounds fantastic and goes alot faster. Emissions where not a problem for the v6 past ita mot first time. Will find out today how the Ts fairs

Doh!!

Thought I would give this a go and managed to break the right angled pipe onto the thermostat getting the resonator out.
What a prat!
New thermostat required!
