Central locking/alarm stopped working on my only key while car was locked, options?

Central locking/alarm stopped working, options? key reprogramming help?

I've only ever had one red key and last week when i returned to my car the central locking button wouldn't work to unlock the car. I had to use the key to open the door but the alarm went off, car started fine but i had to drive with the alarm going off but thankfully it stopped after about 5 mins. So now i have to use the key but the alarm button on the dash is always flashing but it hasn't gone off again.

What can i do, i've looked on ebay for a replacement key which i thought i could get cut and recoded but there aren't any, i'm guessing this is the pricey option if i go to a dealer? there is a repair company on there though that are charging £30, how does that sound?

sent it off to a chap on ebay and it came back and the key still won't lock/unlock, It has aparently been tested and the key is working fine so could the problem be with the car, any ideas, also someone mentioned the key might have lost it'scode, how do i reprogramme it?

Is your key integral with the plip/fob, if so follow this post - Alfa Alarm Reprogramme. This procedure is only for the Alfa Romeo alarm system only NOT for the Meta or Scorpion alarms.
