Just out of interest what kind of numbers is your spider producing with the remap? Looking at parkers figures your 0-60 time is 8.1s or there abouts and 207bhp. Am I looking at the right car? How close was it?

 

I'd wager weight is on the giuliettas side here!

Checked on parkers the 2.4 spider is listed at 1660kgs and QV 1320kgs, that 340kgs will make a massive difference.

 

Thats like the Giulietta carrying three big blokes as well as the driver.

Hmmm well he definitely pulled away quite effectively - though we were only in the lower gears. It was virtually a standing start up to about 60mph, then unexpected road works got in the way.

My Spider is the older 200 bhp engine. After the initial remap it was 250 bhp and 420 lb ft (had it on the rollers) but had to have it turned down a bit as it was a bit much. Don't know what she puts out now, but would guess more like 235 and 380 lb ft. This combined with her serious lardiness would explain a few things.

I had no idea the Giulettas were so light either.

 

My QV is definitely quicker than my (unmapped 210 2.4 Brera) I had last.

 

Others are frequently caught out by that weigh advantage as well

Isnt the QV higher then that? I worked it out at 164.2bhp/tonne roughly. The figures you posted are for the 1.4MA which is still pretty impressive

 

does the QV limit boost levels in 1st and 2nd gear? - my 159 TBi does

 

The QV surely works out at more than 123 per tonne??

I'd like to think it'd punish a 320i.
