Hi,

I had new pads fitted on my 2002 156 last Friday, but something is not right!
If i slam on breaks suddenly the ABS doesn't seem to kick in to the point where it feels like my breaks have failed, but if i brake normally, the breaks work perfectly. I haven't bled the breaks.Could that be the problem?

All answers and help will be much appreciated!

You should bed in a new set of brake pads by relatively gentle braking initially, not immediately slamming them on......ABS only works to prevent the wheel from locking - if the pads haven't had chance to bed in, they probably won't work well enough to lock the wheels anyway...hence your experience......

Always assuming that the pads have been fitted properly and are good quality. Brakes shouldn't need bleeding just because pads are changed.
