I've just been hoovering my 156 tspark and noticed a black box with what looks like a rubber cover switch/button (which I haven't pressed!) under the passenger seat. Can anyone tell me what this is (ejector ...!)

Could be if fitted by Q and your other name is James Bond:lol: otherwise its part of the fire prevention system, and resets the fuel pump after it has switched everything off, hope you never need it:thumbs:
oops just seen above post.
Actually it is the ejector seat but if you havn"t got a sunroof it all gets very messy. Very handy if you want to take the bunny boiler out for one last drive in the Alfa.
Actually it is worth knowing where your fuel cut off reset switch is. 10 years ago I was driving down the A1(M) between St Evenage and Welwyn GC and out of nowhere (well, more than likely from between the wheels of a lorry) a brick came flying at me and hit under my car. Took a chunk out of the splitter and you could see bounce marks all the way under the car (narrowly missing the brake lines). I immediately lost all power.
Car wouldn't start and I had no breakdown cover. I was about to arrange an expensive recovery when a little alarm bell rang in the inner recesses of my brain... Fuel cut off switch...
The correct purpose of this switch is to use the emergency 4 post rally jacks to speed up wheel changes, they deploy when the deflation sensor detects a flat tyre and the ABS senses the car is at rest.
