Autolusso shutting down?

Just had some worrying news when I phoned autolusso Bedford just now to buy a larger radiator for my GT 3.2z They’re shutting down for good as of today. The poor woman on the phone sounded very sad about it, but said there wasn’t much she could do to help me.
It’s only autolusso Bedford that’s going, Penrith and Bournemouth aren’t affected as they’re different companies. But as far as I’m aware, the autolusso parts department was run by the Bedford branch, so finding good Alfa parts is going to get quite a bit harder.

speaking of which, does anyone know where I can get hold of an updated 3.2 busso radiator?

Yes, Ned used to be a regular contributor to this forum, did he retire abroad or something?

I didn't realise there were 3 branches, just thought it was 2 - north and south.

What's happened Dan (Pud)?

We know that, he's on here all the time!
I didn't ask ''what's happened to Dan?''

Autolusso in Bedfordshire (Dunstable / Houghton Regis) have some severe staffing issues, and Ned himself isn't in the best of health at the moment. Not 100% sure what is going to happen with the business in the long run.

Autolusso Penrith & Autolusso Bournemouth are both going concerns and aren't affected by this.

I've just got off the phone to Ned after a long and illuminating chat, and am happy to report that Autolusso is NOT closing, and was never going to. Whoever it was who told you this had no authority to do so, and certainly wasn't speaking on behalf of Ned.

He's had some rotten luck with his health lately, as some of you will know, and has had to take time away from the grindstone, but he's back at the reins with some interesting ideas. Autolusso at Houghton Regis is about to go through a minor re-vamp and may close for the whole of August, Italian style, but isn't going anywhere.

No need to look elsewhere for parts, servicing or advice. The company continues, keep an eye on their website for news and keep the faith! :)

Yes, the message that was there last week has now gone. Weird goings on...

Ned has posted on Facebook that (apart from his health problems) he has had some staffing issues and some staff have left - perhaps a disaffected ex-employee put the notice up. As above, Ned says they may be closed for August, but will be back, and are looking for reliable technicians........
