I've been looking at the new gear knob on the new Q2 GT and I much prefer it to the dull one I have still at the moment!

Does anyone have an idea of where (if possible) I could pick one of these up? Would be a question of paying £80 to order it direct from Alfa?

dunno, but pls post if you find where to get them. The shiny knob looks much better...

I think the best way would be to order from an Alfa dealer, but 80 pounds is quite a lot for just the knob/head. I don't think these knobs are to be found anywhere else but at the dealers, the Q2 is not very wide spread at the moment and SH parts will be hard to find.

You may find that the knob is not available seperatly and only as part of the gearstick itself. This was the case in my 156 so I changed it to a Momo one...which was crap:(

The gearknob itself looked and fealt great but the grub screws were continuously coming loose ( even with some locktight in them) and then eventually sheered away the threads from constantly having to tighten them up.

I ended up having the gearknob replaced three times in all because of this and have been told that it happens with a lot of Momo items as they use very soft alloys for their products. I can believe this as my Momo wheels also buckled not long after I got them

I am going to try and find out how much a few of the new MY2007 GT items are though when I got to the dealer next as I quite fancy the mirror covers, the front whiskers, the back box and the gearknob.

The Q2 knob is not too uncomfortable (to touch) on cold mornings. God knows I've experienced some cold mornings over the past month or so! I find it much more comfortable than my previous GT's gear knob (the round ball-type one) for gearchange, as it suits the shape of your palm better. It also looks a million times better :D

O dear, this reply sounds a bit weird on reflection...

Not weird at all....you just like the feel of your knob! :cheese:

Seriously though, the Q2 version does look so much nicer than the leather and silver plastic one on the previous GT with lift up reverse collar so I hope it is available and easy to fit.
