Still less than 450Nm and more than clutch likes, I suppose ;-)

You have the sports clutch installed already ?

I guess it's time for a dyno session, to see what the BW turbo is really capable of!

Not yet. I'll be doing all the upgrades at the same time on late August. I'm still waiting for the 6speed gearbox.

I'll probably have no chance to dyno the BV50, but according to Laster logs and his dyno results, I suppose those 110mm3/i @4500 should do 230+ HP.

Great job!!! 110mm3.. Buff

How much for tune my file??? :)

hi the BV50 from audi 3.0tdi is easy to fit in the 1.9JTD 8v ? the oil line is diferent :S
I don't think it will be an easy fit. Also suppose that compressor/turbine wheel trim will be different.

Btw. I'll release my BV50 turbo kit for sale soon

Finally I started to work on GTB2056V upgrade. As usually, I'll guide you through this process pic by pic.

Image

Picture 1 - due to bigger compressor housing and tighter bend (comparing to BV50), inlet had to be cut part by part

Image

Picture 2 - Inlet hems (or reinforcements) need to be removed

Image

Picture 3 - Drilled out and grinded - not the nicest, but works fine

Image

Picture 4 - Inlet outer diameter of 51mm

Image

Picture 5 - Dry fitting test - not the final hose yet.

Is it a "Samco" silicone elbow with nonstandard dimensions (length...) on Picture 5?

Nice!
Isn't 51mm inlet kinda small?
Mine is 57mm (2256v)

This gtb2056 should be such a nice upgrade for my 20v! Even exhaust fits on directly!
Still got one laying around... ;-) itchy!

do you have another transmission then we do?

Actually, it's 57mm dia MGP or so I think. It's spare ellbow (from JS JTD FMIC kit) previously fitted to butterfly throttle. But it's attached to the compressor housing only for testing purpose to see if there is enough space and access to the belt retainer.

It's just the neck. there will be 51->80mm reductor attached to the compressor inlet.

So, what are you waiting for! ;-)

Ehr... An updated clutch , this one doesn't like my current 515nm.

Little progress - sanded (upto 600 grade) compressor intake ...

Hi, nope, BV50 still works fine. But GTB2056VK spools faster and is capable of a bit higher airflow. So it's time to fully unleash the power of the engine with upgraded clutch and drivetrain.

Hi!
KKKBV50 currently runing in my GP
1'9 bar @ 2400-4000 rpm
1'8 bar @ 4500 "
1'7 Bar @ 4750

Can I keep spooling at 1.9bares up to 5000rpm? I'm going to upgrade exhaust system 57mm without midle silencer/catalyst and a forge intercooler (40% more flow). I think if I raise a little bit the boost I could smoke less since currently its smoking a bit.
how many hp do you expect with the gtb2056vk?

Yes, you can keep 2bar upto almost 5000rpm with BV50 on 8V JTD, but you need quite big IC as the compressor efficiency drops slightly (intake temperature raises).

I don't await the GTB2056VK to bring much more HP (approx. +10HP comparing to BV50), but 2bar boost @2000rpm already (=more low down torque) and better efficiency at higher rpm.

I'm aiming for about 250HP thanks to upgraded camshaft, ported head, 1700+ bar fuel pressure and upgraded water pump/engine cooling.
