There is no turbo model from Alfa. It must be an Afternarket unit. Maybe by Autodelta or someone like that.

I believe it is a Garrett unit.

The gt2260 was used in the BMW 530d and 330d

yes I know its used by bmw, but just wondering; it has to be bigger than those 2256 what are on the 156 10v and 20v models ?
some people have chipped 159 jtd 2.4 cars to around 240-250hp, but it seems that exhaust, or something else is not good, because the power comes already on 3400-3500rpm. or maybe turbo is so small ? thats why I would like to know, what it is. theres no info on turbopages ( havent found at least ) . considering to buy 159, and wanna know is it good for me

 

thought that the 2.4 turbo was bigger than the 1.9? sure it is on the 147 156's?

 

the smaller engines have gt1749 garrett ( at least 140-150hp models )
2.4 jtd 10v ( 140-150hp ) have gt2256
2.4 jtd 20v ( 175hp ) also gt2256
but what turbo does 159 2.4 jtd ( 200hp-210hp ) have ?

 

squadra says that the 200hp version has a kkk turbo and the 210hp has a garrett one. Squadra Tuning
will have a closer look on the car tomorrow and if there is anything visible written on it, I'll tell you.
anyway, why do you wanna know? thinking of replacing it with a different one?

 

yes, but some turbos are big enough for my goals, so we´ll see.
for example : bmw 330d+gt2260 garrett = 300hp. ( exhaust,fmic, custom chip ) . thinking, that maybe alfa have big enough turbo standard.
those alfa 156 20v cars, that have 175hp. I believe, that good tuning for those, and you have around 240-250hp. but I want +200kw ( +270hp )

 

it seems, that 200hp model have KKK 2080 model, but theres no other info, about the turbo

 

somewhere I did see, that only with stubid tuning box, you could get around 270hp ( dont believe, my self, but ) so now I´m very interested..
using good program and exhaust and fmic.. I think that my 200kw goal is not too far

The 200 bhp one is listed as a GTB2056V in my book, which doesnt show the 210 version.

 

to Alfajack : no, I get married, we have a child now ( 1year 10month old boy ) I sold the car, bought lancia lybra 2.4 jtd sw. but then: we sold the lancia; bought volvo s40 diesel ( -08 ) and also ( some money left ) bought fiat coupe 16vt, because I love the engine. the new owner of the alfa drove it out on trackday, but its ok now ( new paint, still black, new all leather interior, original 155, smaller turbo :cheese: ) car is on sale now, and I´d loved to buy it back, because all the memoryes ! the winter especially

I´m good friend with 155-tbo from Finland, if you know the guy ? talk every week, and no we have same turbos our cars ( 58mm comp / 56mm exh ) and its nice to get a ride with Q4 :thumbs:

Yes I still have the Q4 with only the T3....one day I will upgrade when I have the money for the rebuild but it runs ok for now I know 155-tbo - he posts on the berlinasportivo forum

Good luck with the new cars - I do like the Coupe's too - best engine!

 

if the turbo on 200hp model is same as some 175hp models, then the only difference could be just the fuelpressure.
175hp has 1400bar and 200hp use 1600bar
( 150hp has 1350bar and 10v only )

1600 : 1400 = about 14% more and 175 X 1.14 = about 200 so maybe thats it...

 

210hp: Honeywell-Garrett GTB2056V
200hp: Borg Warner 3K BV50

 

this seems good now ! if it uses the same turbo, than 230-240hp 3.0 diesels.. ( 200hp model ) those can be tuned for +300hp with standard turbocharger, so my 270hp goal can be done
