Sorry to ask this, but did you turn the headlights on first?

 

Yes they were defo turned on as checked rears and they were working fine.

Perhaps the fog lights switch is broken?

 

is there a voltage going to the switch, easy to pull up and get to the contacts.

 

I think the relay for the front fogs is through the trapdoor in the top of the glovebox.

 

And the Fuse?

 

do the rear fogs work?

Gilbert - If it's the same as my car, both front fogs are powered through a single 15A fuse in the compartment above the glove-box, and the relay is in there as well as David C thought. Gav - Check for a voltage at the switch, as Irish suggested. The switch puts one side of the relay to earth to switch the lights on and off.

The fogs should work with just the side lights on - an improvement over the 155 which needed the headlamps to be on and thus making the front fogs useless.

Emptied the water out of them, and they no longer work, so a fuse seems to be the top culprit.

Just another item on a loooooooooooong list
