no gasket on mine either. BUT i did use some liquid gasket to be fair

The rubber ring is the gasket, but I also used Hylomar Blue.

 

Hylomar blue it is!.... Was just about to set upon Tony The Tiger with a pair of scissors!

is that the temp sensor in the picture? is it easy to change, straight forwards?

 

That is the whole Bher unit with temp sender pre fitted ( small black bit on gold nut)
Was not so hard to fit, bottom bolt was a bit ora pain to get to, with lots of small turns taking forever to come off, but probably should have removed the battery to help get more space to fit a socket! I would rate as "little swearing" on the home mechanics scale that I use to determine whether or not to carry out such tasks or just pay an expert to do it properly!
