Fiat 126
Fiat 126 (spares car)
Fiat 126 (another spares car)
Fiat 127
Lancia Beta HPE 1600 (PFY2T). A car I really really regret selling, it was bodily rock solid but mechanically worn out.
Lancia Beta Coupe 2000 (accident damaged donor)
Lancia Beta HPE 2000 (ex 1600 courtesy of dead donor)
Mini Clubman. Automatic. Brown. Worst car I'll ever have. Pennance for accident in the Beta whilst I rebuilt the front end.
Lancia Beta Coupe 2000 (PFY3T). Donor car that had an MOT but how?? Rotten to the core but a good driveline.
Transformer HF2000 (PFY3T)
Lancia Beta HPE 2000 Volumex.
Transformer HF2000VX (Donor engine from scrapyard car)
Lancia Beta HPE Volumex - first one died.
Renault Clio 1.4RT
Alfa Romeo 164 12v. Already dead at 3 years old, rear ended W/O.
Transformer HF2000 becomes an HF3000.
Lancia Beta Monte Carlo Spider. But only the middle bit for an 037 replica that proved way too expensive. So it went.
Alfa Romeo 145 Cloverleaf (1996 pre launch car that I kept for 13 years & 165k miles - most reliable car I'll ever own)
Fiat 124 Spider 2000. Converted to RHD & sold when not getting used enough.
Alfa Romeo 164 Cloverleaf (donor for Transformer, rebuilt engine etc etc)
Fiat Grande Punto 1.9.
Alfa Romeo 159 Ti Q4 Sportwagon, bought at 70k, now up to 110k and the nicest car I've had so far! And the latest in the list to wear the PFY2T plate.
Hawk HF 3000 (drunk eBay purchase..)
Alfa Romeo 166 3.0 Manual. Donor that was too good to break, sold on. At a loss. Not feeling guilty!
Alfa Romeo 164 (donor that came with the drunk eBay purchase that hadn't moved for 8 years. Engine & box saveable & rebuilt but the first 164 I had to lift the engine out of rather than the body off!)

1964 BSA C15 SS80 m/c - crap. My first bike: dealer saw me coming - lots of problems, I had to do a rebore within a month, useless front brake, slipping timing.
1963 Hillman Superminx convertible. More knackered than I thought, so did a total rebuild, with lots of mods, on my dad's drive. Did a genuine 115mph by then. I was young.
1958 Ford Popular E107E - bought for 10p with a ruined engine. Bought a good one for £7.50. Used while the Minx was on bricks for 2 years.
1973 Citroen 2CV (LHD 425cc import from Belgium) - like a biplane. Very reliable in between carb rebuilds. On one 400ml trip I dismantled and cleaned it 13 times. Took me 2yrs to find the points.
1967 Honda CB175 m/c - bought for £7.50 with knacked regulator. Fixed that. Brush painted pink and brown, so I painted the pink bits yellow. Horrible but good.
1967 Ford Transit SWB - scruffy, noisy, useful, lots of miles done. Oil pump drive rounded off, replaced the big ends in the gutter. Took the front beam axle on the tube to get new kingpins fitted.
1973 2CV again (I bought it back 'cos I liked it)
1960 Triumph T21 m/c box job (spent loads, ran out of money for gearbox bits, sold it on)
1973 Fiat 127 - endlessly replaced bits, but a great, fun, revvy little car, that slowly dissolved before my eyes.
1973 Ford Capri 2000 V4 FL (terrible shabby silver paint, awful harsh 'uprated' suspension, but reliable)
1979 Honda CB250 Superdream m/c (almost new when I bought it. Unfortunately a previous owner had neglected oil. I ended up rebuilding the engine & gearbox.
1985 Honda XBR500 - the only new vehicle I have ever bought. Kept it until 2006, c/o another I bought for spares. 2 rebuilds.
1981 Yamaha XT250 m/c - bought for green laning. Too front heavy and sluggish. Swingarm broke, exhaust rotted, but not bad.
1984 VW Golf Gti 1.6 - great fun, but not as reliable as the legend insists. Fond of breaking clutch cables and blowing bypass hoses, gear linkage, alternator. But great fun on country B-roads.
1988 Renault Espace 2000TXE - much-maligned unbelievably good car for family use. I owned it 1991-2017 still no rust, no major issues except the lacquer all fell off.
1988 Suzuki GSXR1100J m/c - tough, simple, blindingly fast, and a test of fortitude in fast bends. I still have it, needs a little work. So do I.
1994 Suzuki DR350 m/c - bought for green laning, but so many faults I stripped it for rebuilding in 2004. Still in boxes :)
1996 KTM Duke 1S3 m/c - urban hooligan, exploding generator aside, good until stolen and written off
2003 KTM Duke 2 - better built than the '96 Duke. Unfortunately also a thief magnet. In storage as I got fed up chasing away scrotes with knives and angle-grinders, with a pickaxe handle.
2008 Alfa Romeo 147 Sport Q2 - bought cheap with a horrid rattle, ingested swirl flaps. All good now. By my standards this is a 'new car'.

NB the dates are the years of mfr, not the dates I bought them :) Most were old clunkers by the time I got them. I tend to keep vehicles a very long time.

Here goes....

1982 Talbot Horizon 1.3 EX - chronic understeer and full of filler.

1977 Ford Fiesta Mk I ( in 70’s 2 tone blue with poo coloured seats - cost £70)

1975 Series III diesel landy

1989 Mk 4 Escort, 1.4l

2002 Fiat Punto 1.2

Another 1975 Series III landy

2004 Fiat Punto 1.3 diesel

2001 BMW 318i ( comfy but slow and dull)

2006 Alfa 147 2.0 TS - first Alfa in 2006 and brilliant after BMW.

2009 Alfa Brera S 3.2V6 - great, but too heavy.

1999 Alfa 916 GTV twinnie - great, but a bit leggy

2009 Fiat Qubo ( baby buggie) - Did everything but needed thrashed to within an inch of its life.

2008 Saab 9-3 ttid Estate auto ( great car, saabs have the most comfy seats ever)

2014 Alfa Gulietta 1.4 170 MA (current and brilliant, if lacking the raw fun of the 147)

2000 Alfa 916 Spider V6 ( current and first Busso)

Also had access to a Fiat Seicento, Panda, BMW X1 (very poor driving experience) and currently a VW Up! - a great little car which Fiat should replicate when replacing the stone-aged 500/Panda.

Passed my test in 1992 - first car 1992.

1985 Austin Mini City - always wanted one - worst car I've had. Collection of parts looking for somewhere to break down.
1992 Rover Metro 1.1
1993 Citroen BX 16 TGS - loved it. What a brilliant car. My second favourite car I've owned
1997 Ford Ka - hated it. Sold it to go a holiday. Didn't own another car for about 8 years.
1997 Rover 414i (bubble shape) - total bargain with only 17000 miles on the clock. Good transport. Liked it though very old fashioned.
2007 Citroen C4 VTR Coupe - Great looking car. Third favourite car I've owned.
2014 Seat Ibiza Toca - did a job. Most reliable car I've had. Best quality of any car I've had. Could be fun to drive. Too small.
2010 Alfa Romeo 159 1.9jTDm Sport Turismo - spent a fortune on this repairing all kinds of stuff from gearbox, clutch and dmf to a new inlet manifold after some **** drilled a hole in it. Expensive to run and temperamental. The best car I've ever had. I love it. Everyone I know who goes in it loves it - even my business partner who hates cars. Never want to get rid of it. I'd always wanted an Alfa and as soon as I saw it I was besotted.
