Bit strange that Alex is testing the Suzuki after reading on Crash.net that Sam turned it down .......

Quote from Crash.net
Fixi Crescent Racing had originally targeted Alex's twin brother Sam for a deal in 2014, but the new World Supersport Champion instead opted for a Moto2 ride, telling Crash.net that he wasn't 'going to win' on the Suzuki

FP1 for Superbikes was a very quiet affair due to damp conditions, the first to brave it after 2/3 of the session well off pace. At chequered flag a few more had ventured out, the fastest being Jonny Rea who was 7 seconds slower than test times. Hope the track improves so the riders get a full FP2 on track.

Excellent result for Laverty :Irish: in race 1 but bad luck for race 2, otherwise he'd probably have lead the championship leaving Philip Island.

Great pace for Lowes despite his results

Recorded both races last night, and just watched them before coming into this thread, and I agree with David in his comments above all round, although I must admit when Laverty's engine blew, I didn't think the race was going to be Red Flagged, but I'm sure race control knew what they were doing.........:)

BTW.....It was brilliant to see the Alfa 4C on the track as the Safety Car, and all the advertising boards around the circuit too. Got to be good for the Alfa Romeo brand, methinks......

Yes at least 2 red 4Cs made a good few appearances on the coverage of WSB from Philip Island today, a Mito also made an appearance & there was loads of trackside sponsorship advertising the 4C & Alfa Romeo as they are again the top sponsor of the series, there were also a few ads during the break for the Mito

I normally Fast Forward the ads when I record anything, but did notice at the end of the programme, a great plug for the 4C and Alfa Romeo overall, and as you say being the top sponsor of WSB has to help. All good publicity worldwide, methinks.......
