Does any one know the potential problems of having Selenia Star PE oil ( for Petrol engines ) supplied and fitted instead of the Diesel engine oil, Selenia WR PE in a 1.6 JTDm engine?

Just noticed this from my wifes service files at 28974 miles and 42188 miles.

No idea but I can't imagine it would be good.. :(

"The use of products with characteristics that are not up to ACEA C3 (for petrol engines) and ACEA C2 (for diesel engines) standard could cause
engine damage not covered by the warranty"

From the manual

It shouldn't cause any problems at all. The oil for the petrol engine is a 5/40, the diesel a 5/30.
Protection won't be affected, fuel economy might suffer slightly.

Googled;)

I don't see why they would not use the correct grade even if there is an alternative. Just lazy servicing. I hate stuff like that. Don't lose sleep over it, buy your own next time and tell them why. If they don't like it go somewhere else.....
