Will this be televised on "normal" channels?

Unlikely Simon, not sure where they are with TV coverage but it all fell apart when the that Russian (Antonov?) and North sport went bust.

Reading between the lines that's why Meeke lost his seat at Mini, BMW refused to sign up for sufficient money in time for Prodrive to get the registration in for the championship. In the end Prodrive have only entered one Car with Dani Sordo on a limited budget. I can only assume FIA let them enter late???

WRC is in a bit of mess these days:(

MotorsTV it is again for me, hopefully ESPN HD do a Freeview weekend again to clash with a WRC round though as their coverage is much better

Is it just me, or wasn't Eurosport also in negotiations over at least the Monte and the Swedish Round

Actually BMW was unhappy about the situation in Germany, where the WRC is covered by Sport 1. Or should I say "not covered at all", because the programs are either short snippets between a shitload of poker-ads or sent out so late in the evening the poker-ads give way for x-rated ads. In a bid to force the issue after the North One bust they just simply forgot the whole thing, in the hope that Eurosport Deutschland could have a go. All about money and politics again.

It appears so as Eurosport/HD are showing coverage of the Monte Carlo Rally starting Wednesday at 10pm  MotorsTV coverage starts at 10:35pm on Wednesday, both channels showing 30 mins per night.

If you have a Nokia Symbian 3 phone (I can't be the only one), check out their excellent live timing app

Nokia Store:

still has live timing / tracking, but currently no news or current videos due to the North One fiasco.

Just finished watching the coverage of day 1 on Eurosport HD ( not a HD broadcast though ), excellent quality compared to MotorsTV which is very blurry in comparison & especially noticeable on the maps & leader board results

Great to see Solberg back in a factory car & in 3rd overall after Day 1 just a second behind Sordo  Loeb leading buy over a minute though after Latvala crashes out while leading by ~ 30 seconds. Still 4 days of rallying to go

You're in luck it seems David. Watched it on Motors TV because of the snookuh punting the coverage back. When I checked the Eurosport-recording later, it had the same English commentary as Motors TV (note: have no HD, just the normal Eurosport)

Yeah it ran late last night, on schedule tonight though & Carlton Kerby was on commentary duty
Some great footage again today from incar, roadside & helicam

Loeb now leading by 1min 37sec, a big battle all day between Sordo & Solberg for second place with Sordo reclaiming 2nd on today's last stage. Ogier had a big off at about 150kph, both taken to hospital for a checkup.

Looking forward to Day 3

Looks like Ford really fumbled the tire-choice this morning. Although they went 1-2-3-4 in the stage 11 on supersofts, the Citroens ran an apocalyptic stage 12 (hail, rain, fog, snow) on studded tires al around and put 39s on top of the lead Loeb had on Solberg and Sordo. The Mini's did not do bad on standard snowtires (Campana 3rd and Sordo 4th), but Solberg lost 1m41s with his crosswired approach (one studded front-left, the other studded right-rear).
Kevin Abbring did really well up until that point in S2000; he took back 16 seconds on PG Andersson, but he also lost heaps of time with tire problems (I dunno if this is correct, but he said he had studs on the left side and soft-tires right :wow: )

As expected: Loeb stayed on the road and won the Monte Carlo rally. Dani Sordo 2nd in the Mini and Solberg third, although he picked up yet another speeding ticket (104 where 50 is allowed: €1400 merci beaucoup) and has a suspended ban for Sweden, meaning if he is caught again, Chris Patterson will be his chauffeur on the open road connections

Kevin Abbring 1st S2000 car :D although Craig Breen gets the points as VW Motorsport is not in the SWRC. I also found out from an interview he will alternate the car with Andreas Mikkelsen and has the chance to drive at least every recce. Too bad Dennis Kuipers has problems with his budget; he's up for another customer drive at M-Sport, but sponsoring in Holland is still quite stingy.

I really enjoyed the Monte Carlo rally this year   Looking forward to Sweden now :D

IIRC according to Eurosport's Carlton Kerby if Solberg is caught again in the 6 rallys he'll actually have his result from Rally Sweden excluded.

Nice gesture from Delecor to let his co-driver drive for the last stage as it was his last rally

Alright, now it gets confusing. Fact is, Prodrive have been ditched as official Mini WRT. The job landed at Motorsport Italia which runs two cars for Portugese privateer Armindo Araujo and Brazilian privateer Paulo Nobre. Nobre and Araujo are as of now the official Mini factory drivers. AFAIK Prodrive is not yet out of the WRC, they are responsible for running the customer cars, which now for Sweden include Dani Sordo, Patrik Sandell (who charters a Mini for his Rally Team Sweden) and touringcar driver Richard Göransson.

Which means at this point, Sordo on his own has more points in the WRC than the 'new' Mini factory team. I really hope Kay Segler (new chef at the German end of Mini) has a long term plan in mind.

And still no solution in the Tv coverage soap. Solutions must be found on tuesday, or else I'm afraid not even Motors will cover anything.
