..that don't accept cash and expect you to pay into an account
(between 10am and 11.59am) if you want food at lunchtime or
any drinks from the cashless vending machines.

Work canteen indeed, would it that such a thing existed where I work. I was of the opinion that such things were the stuff of office folklore or the 50's , tell me you have a fat lady with a trolley laden with cakes that visits your desk and I shall die . :cheese:

Nothing like that at my work but no machines either. At least we have a room with a fridge/freezer, microwave, cooker, toaster etc. Need to make our own stuff but at least we have somewhere to make it and eat it.

No facilities.

Can't leave as nothing around and car is parked in a lot about 1km away
and would take too long to go there, drive somewhere, get food, drive back etc.

Sick of it.

Have to drive home tonight and then drive back tomorrow now.

FFS.

Still starvin'

Looks like motorway sandwiches tonight.

Why not bring stuff in with you in the morning?

That would work if I was at home, but it's difficult to bring
stuff in from the hotel room.

Back home now. Brera in for a service tomorrow morning and
then it's back up to Grenoble tomorrow night for work on Friday.
Back Friday night, then probably back up on Sunday to work Monday
Tuesday then off to the US Wednesday morning.

:D

No works canteen = luncheon vouchers here.

But that site's "lunch solutions provider" doesn't accept them.

Here in the south today: Ordered sarnies over the internet, delivered to the door
by an incredibly cute sandwich delivery girl.

I saw that once, I went for an interview with BP at Brittanic House, Mooregate, in that London. I was sitting outside the office when she shuffled up to me and asked if I wanted a cake off the trolly. Too polite to refuse.

At the interview the guy asked my how I got on with Black people (1970's). I said I had never met any and he said "So, you avoid them!" I said "No, there aren't any where I come from" His reply was "Where do you come from?"

I took PaulR's advice ( as yesterday I had to grab some shaving
foam from a shop for this morning) so I now have mini TUC biscuits and
a couple of bottles of Badoit Rouge for lunch! :D:D:D
