Hello all,

My 147 creaks and groans like an old man with a bad back! my question is, do I get new upper wishbones fiited or go the powerflex bush in oem wishbone route?

your thoughts and experiences would be greatly appreciated by this relative newbie

Just finished installing a complete kit of new TRW arms. Costed me roughly 300Eur parts and a half day in the garage.

Mine was clicking and apparently was not coming from the top arms but from the lower one. Anyways my gt now feels like new on bumpy roads, and no more clicking.

If you are sure it is from the top arms and your lowers are still in good shape the top are relatively cheap. Just make sure you get original parts or TRW.

Above +1.

I'm having this work done at the moment, the advice I was given is if you've spent money on quality parts and have them properly installed then they should last well. Powerflexing the uppers as I learned recently can cause the ride to become a little firmer. I already have multiple fractures in my spine from my stock suspension setup and the thought of it being even firmer did not fill me with joy. So my advice would be the same as that from the specialist, fit quality OEM parts and you should be fine, plus groaning upper arms is a very common problem. That said, it's up to you.

If the ball joint is intact then you can replace the bushes, if the ball joint is knackered then you will need a replacement. You can opt for Powerflex, strongflex etc or get OEM bushes. Opinions on replacement arms seem to be TRW of OEM.
