Hi !

I remove the starter several years ago for repair, and is now in the process of retrofitting it. However, I seem to have one wire too much.....sic..... There is a thick black wire from the positive battery pole, that's pretty obvious, it goes to the central big screw on the starter relay. Then there's a thin black wire, goes to a plug which is also rather obvious, but then I'm left with a red wire, for which I can't see any receiving point. It also comes from the battery plus pole, but where shall it go ?

Does anyone knwo ?

Or is there a wiring diagram available showing this? My Alfa books are stored away somewhere.....

best regards
Terje

Wiring fixed

I found it. They red wire goes to the rest of the car. The current goes via the black thick wire from battery to starter, then via the red wire from starter to the coupe and the rest of the electric circuitry.

The car has been "resting" for 9 years in a garage. It started ...on the third try....on all 4 cylinders...pure white exhaust.... what a fantastic engine !!!!
What other car can start on the third try after 9 years ! !!
