hi there, my passenger side wiper arm flew off yesterday. i found the arm and the spring and both are in tact. but how do you get that spring back on as very tight and i can`t even pull the spring apart on its own! any ideas or hints? thanks

Never done this myself, but have encountered rear brake shoe springs which are just as strong i guess.
Technique I have used is to force the flat blade of a screwdriver in between the coils of the spring (at least 1 turn from the end) - hook the spring over one end and use the screwdriver as a lever to hook the other end. I guess for this, take off the wiper arm to avoid any damage to the car and to be able to get to it easily - and be careful of the chance the screwdriver slips out of the spring when under tension.

Err, if the arm flew off I guess the little casting which is the hinge is broken...isn't it?
