I wonder if anyone can help, my windows no longer go up and down when I open or close the doors, (although they go down when taking the top off) they are also sitting a bit low so are quite noisy at spped and do leak a bit, not great now the winter is comming.
Apparently I cant adjust them up as they will then catch the roof when opening and closing the door so I will need to get the auto up down but sorted, My local garage dont really know were to start as they suggest two new motors (the windows stick and jamn frequently and sometimes stop working all together for a while) and new electric module but this is ging to be really expensive...
Does anyone know what might be causing the fault or has anyone had any experience of fitting second hand units.?
Also does any one know of a good Alfa specialist in the Somerset / Dorset area who might be able to help.?
Many Thanks
Mark

I know that with the spider there are many things that must be adjusted. The windows for example are adjustable in 3 dimensions. Full stop up, concave/convex (so inwards or outwards), and yaw (tilt to front of car or tilt to back).

If the alignment is slightly off, the window will shake or judder very slightly on going up. If it actually stops, and you have to press the button multiple times the alignment is completely off or the winding motor is on it's way out.

The best thing to do would be to actually take it to a dealer (or knowledgeable specialist) for realignment and/or replacement of motor.

Don't forget that the roof of the spider is equally adjustable, i.e. if you see vertical stretch ripples in the rear quadrant (on the top of the car right above the plastic window) it means it's too tight and needs to be adjusted.
