Can someone recommend me a company that can re-chrome my air intake tubes and also do the gold like chrome plating for the fuel lines? I am in Surrey but can post anywhere

Cheers

I have looked into this myself and found it to be pretty expensive, more expensive than a set of new pipes, for a top quality job.
I even looked into sending pipes to the USA where rechroming services are more abundant and slightly less expensive.
I'm still interested in having a set (or two) rechromed as the quality of rechromed pipes will be a lot better than the original chroming, which flakes off very easily.
I wonder if enough of us got together and found a suitably high quality rechroming outfit, the price could well drop down considerably?

Interestingly I emailed half a dozen local companies this week asking if they could do my intakes and how much. So far not a single response yet !

I'm in for this GB if their turnaround time is not excessive.

A6 - please advise when you have news on the chroming quote....We might be able to organise a group for a bulk order!

Will do.

It was a friend of a friend that used them and he had the big side bars done either side of his quad bike the rear axle which is pretty big and some small little bits like pedals and brake levers where he claims he only paid around £80 for the whole lot !!

I managed to get over to Marque Chroming in Coventry and there is good and bad news I'm afraid

Good

They appear to be a good quality place, they showed me round the production areas along with giving examples of their work as a side by side comparison so show how much better their chrome finish is.

Bad

Price !! £138.00 for the six intakes !
Turnaround whilst they've promised me a two week turnaround they are quoting upto six weeks as they have that much work on at present.

I personally decided to go for it as the finish is exceptional, I want a high end finish for my car and moreover I want to get the GTV back on the road with this being the last job holding me up !

I'll show pictures of the end result.

Got my chrome intakes back from Marque Chroming today and they look amazing really pleased with the finish.

Not cheap at £136.00 but worth it IMO for high end finish. Can't fault the service they actually did they quicker than stated so I'd definitely recommend and use again

That does indeed look to be a great quality job.

did you by any chance ask them if the price comes down for multiple sets?

Yeah I did and they didn't seem too interested in group buys. They are very busy and are great quality from what I can see.

I'll get these fitted tomorrow and get some completed pictures up

When I queried the price the owner went to great lengths to show why their end product is far better than the standard factory finish. The chrome plating itself is much thicker, but they also hand polish them to a perfect mirror finish.

They also do different finishes so I was toying with whether to get the fuel rails done the gold zinc alloy finish. I've painted mine silver and they look good in fairness.
