For the past week have had a egr fault, have had this before so no big worry!

Got back from the shops and stripped and cleaned the valve, tested it (12v across the terminals) working fine.

While I was I under the bonnet thought I would clean the MAP sensor (how exciting am I) as this gets a bit manky too.

Cleared the code using the torque app and went for a blast up the road. She feels happier but am still getting the egr fault coming up.

What sensor does the ecu use to check flow from the egr? Just in case this is the cause

Cheers

The EGR valve provides feedback back the ECU by itself. I think you may need a new EGR valve.
take it that it must just provide information on if the solenoid is energized or not.

so the flow must be measured by something else, the MAP sensor?

Tested it off the car (pushed it in, energized it & it pushed back strongly every time)

So the MAP then I suppose could be at fault

Edit
Just had a look online and they are Cheap enough but is it the same sort of thing as the MAF, ie must fit a genuine Bosch one, or will any manufacture do?

Cheers
