Hi,

1.9 16V JTDM. My alternator has packed up. I was in in the process of ordering a new one and found there is a 120A or 140A option. The fittings apear to be identical only the current rating being different. Can I just fit a 140A one. Apparently thre higher amp rating is for colder climates.

They are indeed interchangable. If they are not OEM parts, make sure they come with a puley! The belt may not line up otherwise. Unless your getting a good deal on the 140, I wouldnt bother paying more for it.
