Let the fun start!

What do you think is the best handling car ever made by Alfa?

I am not just talking about speed, but Cornering, steering, braking and balance.

Give me your thoughts!

Out of what I've driven, which isn't a lot – 164, 166, 156, 155, 145, Spider – I'd say the 164QV, followed by the 145QV.

Would love to try a sud.

Sud must be up there (though I've only driven the Sprint varient)
145 QV is very well balanced and superb at the limit.
I've heard the GTV6 was impressive in its day.

If you are talking handling (as opposed to grip) then I'd wave the flag for a 105 series GT/GTV or a 75SZ.

159 would have em all licked. Especially in Q4 mode?
On grip yes, but handling?

A good handling car might not actually grip as well but handle much more sweetly. A case in point being 80's porsche 911's. Loads of grip, but evil handling. A good handling car with lower grip will deliver more pleasure than a high grip car.

Bob Dove did an interesting piece on this in the Club Magazine a while back.

With modern tyres grip for many cars is very good. But anything with power steering delivers less feedback and ultimately Front or 4 wheel drive is not as much fun.

To be honest the only Alfas I've driven have been GTVs, Breras and 946 Spiders, and out of those the Brera had the best handling. Still loved the GTV on the motorway and nothing is quite as gorgeous as the Spider, so they've all got great points.

Would have to say SZ although I've never driven one, it took the best of everything Alfa had to offer at the time

Sud and Alfetta GTV would be high up there too
