Does anyone have a suggestion for a place that can do the replacement of all four discs and pads on my 147? Chatz want R8500 which is ludicrous in my opinion.

hey bud, clearly you havnt searched this site as yet.. there are a number of places as discussed before but safety brake and clutch in stydom park seems to be the cheapest

You're right I haven't. Work has been crazy and I left it long enough for the worn pads to score one of the rear discs so it's urgent now. I'm hoping to get it into a workshop tomorrow as this is my primary car for work etc. Alfia Auto isn't far from home so I'm hoping they can do it at a reasonable price. If I'd had more time/planned better I could've bought the parts myself and done it.....oh well!! They can also put on the new belly pan I bought while it's up on the lift. The saggy old one scrapes on absolutely everything at the moment.

Thanks for the info gents. I've booked with Alfia Auto. I'll drop it off early tomorrow morning. I need somewhere that's reliable, close by and reasonably priced. They fitted the bill on accounts and Eric recommended them too. They're going to do discs and pads all round plus fit the new bell pan for R5200.

payed 980 for back disks Matelli and 450 for front disks Stone from Master parts front pads 980 and 540 rear took 2 hours to install all my self easy job

sorry have to add everything that i have fixed on my car except the turbo and service parts was fu*&^ed up by Chatz and company from not replacing cam belt to fu*&ing up all the aux belt moving parts to changing the clutch and NOT REPLACING THE RELEASE BEARING to spraying copperslip on the OUT SIDE of a master cylinder to make pedal smoother and then TAKING THE SERVICE BOOK OUT the car before i bought the car dont take your car there bunch of idiots and Lenro bought the first 156 sw from Chatz serviced by him and the cambelt snapped because they did not change it when they should have

Thanks for the offer Dave, unfortunately PTA is a bit too far for me to travel with my business work schedule.

Alfia Auto did the work yesterday. Absolutely a fantastic bunch of chaps. Very enthusiastic and willing to help. They fitted new front discs, front and rear pads, a new rear wiper blade, refilled the washer fluid and installed the new belly pan I provided all for R4200.

Best of all they're literally 6km from home.:thumbup:
