I need to do the "tap" thing on the idle control valve but have no idea what I'm looking for or what it looks like. She's 2.0 phase 2 plastic top engine cover. Cheers guys

It's a stepper motor in black with a circular part leading to a square part, it might be worth stripping the whole thing off (4 Ribe screws) and cleaning it out completely, you'll notice there's a greasy black deposit ring around the butterfly valve as the recirc pipes go back into the loop, Get a can of brake cleaner and completely jet out the throttle body, it looks beautiful afterwards

On mine i give it a sharp tap (not a great big wallop) and it works perfectly.....
