merry xmas first of all

can't find neither swirl flaps not control bar on my engine(07 blackline 1.9 JTDm) with the plastic manifold.
it doesn't seem to have any bars connecting to anything under mani or i'm looking at wrong side of engine?
can anyone just point where to look at and do I need to remove t/belt to take the mani off?

You can't see them from outside of the engine in this case. They are inside of the manifold and the moving mechanism too.

Yea the newer plasti manifolded JTDm engines have the mechanism built right into the manifold.. No external bar at all!

It's possible, but you either destroy the manifold or grind a bit off the fuel pump bracket, I used the first method as I had a new manifold anyway.

Yes. Have a look at this thread.

The manifold will foul the mount for the fuel pump, I went down the route of grinding the obstruction. However someone mentioned the manifold studs can be removed, maybe remove the stud nut and replace with a couple of narrow nuts, lock them off then wind the studs out, it'll allow the manifold to slide out at an angle.
